Advantages of adjusting the saddle height on the go

What are the advantages of adjusting the saddle height while riding?

If you look closely at some bikes designed for tricks or classic BMX bikes, one of the first things that stands out is the low saddle height. This allows the rider to stand up from the saddle, firmly place their feet on the pedals, and shift their weight backward.

In mountain biking, you need a certain saddle height to pedal more efficiently, especially over long distances. On the other hand, a low saddle height gives you a significant advantage on technical trails or descents – it keeps your center of gravity low and helps prevent you from flying over the handlebars.

That’s why adjusting the saddle height according to the trail you’re riding is always a good idea. The height-adjustable seatpost, controlled by a handlebar-mounted lever, better known as a dropper post, gives you the best of both worlds!

The adjustable KS Dropzone seatpost can be installed on any standard mountain bike. Its height is adjusted on the fly with a convenient handlebar lever, without the need to stop and use a quick release or tools. You can lower the height when descending or performing tricks/jumps, and raise it when climbing.

For riders who have never ridden with a low saddle, the benefits of an adjustable seatpost may not be obvious. If you fall into this category, we encourage you to lower your saddle and ride the trails that usually challenge you. You will find that you have much greater control over the bike and will gain confidence. And we assure you, if one day you start riding with an adjustable seatpost, you will use it all the time!
