DRAG Bike Rally Cherni Vrah 2017

More than 150 people started in the 14th edition of the DRAG Cherni Vrah Bike Rally on October 21. The participants covered 38 km with a total elevation gain of 3,300 m.

In sunny and warm weather on the day of the race and along the participants' favorite classic route through Konyarnika, the Drag Cherni Vrah Bike Rally 2017 took place. The start was given at Boyansko Hanche at 9:00 AM.

Originally planned for October 7, the race was postponed to the 21st due to late confirmation from the responsible institutions for the return of the old route, after two consecutive years of having to follow a less popular route that used the same track for ascent and descent.

Despite the bad weather on October 7, which caused a lot of damage to the track – mainly fallen trees and branches – on the 21st the route was perfectly passable, thanks to the volunteers from DRAG and DRAGZONE stores.

We are glad that the racers were able to ride through the terrain well known to them.

The race went successfully. The overall ranking is now clear – the fastest through the track was Alexander Alekseev Alexiev with a total time of 2:25:00 hours (14 seconds faster than last year's winner in the men's category). Among the women, the fastest was Hristina Kozareva, who finished with a total time of 4:03:55.

In the veterans category, there were two winners for the respective groups (veterans and veterans 56+) – Hristo Ivanov Lekov with a time of 03:03:10 and Ivan Bozhinov Ivanov with a time of 04:39:33. Among the juniors, Ventsislav Venkov from DRAG Cycling Club climbed and descended Cherni Vrah in 03:09:28 and with this time ranked first, while Daniel Todorov, also from DRAG Cycling Club, took first place in the older boys category with a total time of 05:28:02.

The top three from each category received, in addition to medals, prize vouchers from DRAGZONE stores and the online store Doltcini.BG. Prizes were also provided by Omsight, who supplied clothing to the competitors. All participants received a t-shirt as a souvenir from the event as well as a certificate.
