Признание за българската вело индустрия от Международния колоездачен съюз (UCI)

Dragomir Kuzov, manager and owner of one of the most recognizable bicycle brands in Bulgaria, DRAG, was elected as a member of the Equipment Commission of the International Cycling Union (UCI).

The news was sent by the UCI president Mr. David Lappartient on November 9, 2017. This is an event for our country, as for the first time in the 117-year history of the organization there is a Bulgarian among its ranks.

The International Cycling Union (UCI), based in Aigle, Switzerland, issues licenses to race participants and enforces disciplinary rules, such as in the area of doping. UCI also manages race rankings and the points ranking system in various cycling disciplines, including road, track, mountain biking, and BMX, for men and women, amateurs and professionals. It also organizes world championships and cups.

Dragomir Kuzov is a former road racer, master of sports, and founder of the bicycle brand "DRAG" in 1998 in Sofia. He supports many Bulgarian and foreign talents on their path to professional cycling. As part of the Equipment Commission, Mr. Kuzov will have a voice and be responsible for the bicycles and equipment used in all competitions organized under the UCI regulations, including World Championships and the Olympic Games.

Mr. Kuzov commented: "This is a huge recognition for Bulgaria and it is a great honor for me to be part of the UCI team. The responsibility is great and over the next four years I will strive to justify the trust placed in me. UCI already has an effective policy regarding the technical requirements for bicycles and equipment used in competitions, but there is room for improvement. I will put all my knowledge and efforts into supporting the development of world cycling sport and the fight against technological fraud. We always strive to develop world-class products, and I believe this is a well-deserved recognition for the many years of hard work by the DRAG team!"
