- Installation
Before installing the VP-BC77P, it is essential to clean the threads of the frame and apply waterproof grease to them to prevent metal seizing and creaking. Use a torque wrench, with the recommended tightening torque between 35 Nm and 50 Nm. Remember that the right cup (on the chain side) has a reverse thread.
- Maintenance
The sealed design of this axle cassette does not require lubrication or bearing adjustment throughout its service life. Periodic checks for play or lateral movement in the axle are recommended, which indicate the need to replace the component.
- How do I determine which axle length is suitable for my bike?
The axle length depends not on the frame but on the model of your crankset. You need to measure your current axle or check the technical specifications of the crankset to ensure the correct chainline position.
- Can I replace the bearings of this cassette if they wear out?
The VP-BC77P model is a sealed cartridge unit, which means the bearings are not serviced separately. If noise or play occurs, the entire cassette is replaced with a new one, which is a more practical and economical solution.
