The corporate history of Cycle Parts GMbH dates back to April 1999 as an independent limited liability company. In May of the same year, the company fully committed to the development and global distribution of the VDO brand, distinguished by serious progressive innovations in the field of bike computers and heart rate monitors, which at that time was a very promising niche for the favorable development of the newly formed company. Over time, VDO-branded bike computers and heart rate monitors have established themselves as iconic products with environmentally friendly technology.

The company’s offices and warehouses based in Neustadt, Germany, currently serve over fifty countries, making the VDO brand one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of bike computers and heart rate monitors worldwide. Considering the ongoing innovations in the field, since 2003, the MC 1.0 and HC 12.6 series, as well as the desire to achieve the best and highest quality product for the end user, have determined the company’s upward path over the years. Supporting the above, we can add countless testing hours with numerous scenarios helping to eliminate every possible error, defect, or inaccuracy for each individual product. Serial production of bike computers only begins once every test in the respective order has been passed. For additional security, quality assurance, and reliability of each product, after leaving serial production, the bike computers and heart rate monitors undergo further random tests before being released to the end user. Proof of the reliability of this system, as well as the innovative approach of the engineers, is every final product released to the market over the years, such as the C-series bike computers in 2005, which were the first with digital wireless technology, another prominent example from 2010 is the GP7 series, a high-quality bike navigation system with many useful features, as well as many others leading up to the highly successful innovative M6 series.
