Through Bluetooth technology riders or mechanics can wirelessly communicate with the EW-WU101 wireless data transmitter unit (or the SC-MT800) via a computer, tablet or a smart phone. As well as allowing wireless workshop customizability, it allows riders to customize their shifting preferences on the trail via an app on their smartphones. The prerequisite is the use of the BT-DN110 battery pack or the BM-DN100 Battery Mount. The latter is available in different versions, according to frame type and cable routing.
